There is an interesting post over at Techcrunch ( Venture Capital Fundraising Is Down Nearly 40 Percent In First Quarter of 2009) concerning the lack of new investment in Venture Funds in the first Quarter of 2009. I don’t see this as a discouraging sign at all. I believe there is an opportunity to build your business by bootstrapping and developing both your product and market prior to seeking additional funding. As an added bonus, you’ll turn over less of your company by creating a greater valuation.
